28-NOV-2020: OPD services to open from Dec 1
Aligarh, November 28: The Outpatient Department (OPD) services of the Departments of General Medicine, TB and RD and ENT, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will resume from December 1. Doctors at various JNMC departments were providing tele-consultation to patients after hospital services all over the country were abruptly shut due to fear of Coronavirus spread among patients and for diverting health workers to Covid duties.
"These OPD services will open in a phased manner and the number of patients to be seen daily has been capped at 50 in each of the departments. The clinic timing will be 9: 30 am," said Prof Shahid Ali Siddqui, Principal, JNMC.
"While the emergency services were on throughout this time, the restarting of OPDs will benefit many patients. Restoring OPDs to their full capacity will take time, but the number of patients to be seen physically will increase in the days to come," said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.
