Indira Gandhi Hall
Indira Gandhi Hall, a Hall of Residence exclusively for female students of Aligarh Muslim University, was inaugurated in 1995. One of the latest halls built to accommodate the postgraduate girl students of the University. The total strength of the Hall is around 750 residents and 833 non-resident students. The Principal administrator is the Provost who is responsible for the management of the Hall with the help of a team of Wardens. The total strength of the working staff is 56. The Residents of the Hall belong to the Masters? Degrees of Arts, Social Science, Commerce and Science Faculties. Students of BCA, BFA and BUMS also reside in the hostel.
Indira Gandhi Hall has residents from all over India - from North, South, East and West, representing various states in India. The residential life is very active. Indira Gandhi Hall has its Annexe also, where 177 students (out of the total strength) get accommodated.
The Hall promotes a self dependent life style to the students. Extra- Curricular activities are organized to build the personality of the students and enhance their confidence. The food in the past year is given according to the Menu which is prepared by the provost and senior Food herself there is also a provision of cafeteria which has recently come up and caters to the requirement of fast food by the residents. The I.G. Hall also has two canteens both in the Main Hall & Annexe.
