The department of Prosthodontics was started in 1996. The department is engaged in teaching of BDS students since 1997. The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge was established in the year 2000.The MDS course in the subject of Prosthodontics with intake capacity of 02 seats per year was introduced in the year 2015. The department imparts excellent clinical and academic skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Alongwith the teaching to undergraduate & postgraduate students, the department is running 2 years full time diploma in dental mechanics course. The average yearly OPD of the Prosthodontics clinic has drastically increased from the year 2001. The average present department OPD is more than 800 per month.

Dr.Gaurav Singh (Associate professor) is the present chairperson of the department. Other faculty members are Prof Geeta Rajput , Dr Abhinav Gupta (Associate professor), Dr Shaista Afroz (Associate professor), Dr Shraddha Rathi (Assistant professor) , Dr Pankaj Kharade (Assistant professor), Dr Sabzar Abdullah (Assistant professor) and Dr Niharika Yadav (Assistant professor). The department with young and enthusiastic teaching faculty is continuously upgrading the clinical skills, research & academics in the field of dentistry.

Department is well equipped to provide facilities like complete dentures, cast partial dentures, crown & bridge prosthesis , implant retained prosthesis, rehabilitation of maxillofacial defects, prosthetic appliances for obstructive sleep apnoea and temporomandibular joint disorders.
