Professor M. Faisal S. Baig is interested in the areas of computational aerodynamics, novel techniques of turbulent drag-reduction, rotating turbulent flows and propulsion. He did his Masters in Engg. from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and Ph.D. from University of Southampton, U.K.
On the research front, he is involved in developing codes for implementing novel control techniques for turbulent drag-reduction in compressible and incompressible turbulent flows. Currently, he is heading administrative responsibilities being HOD of Mechanical Engineering department , AMU.
His teaching interests are primarily in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and CFD. Professor Faisal Baig is now digressing in the area of Complexity applied to Engineering systems using the concept of Synchronicity in order to ascertain order out of chaos.
He has published and reviewed for papers in Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Physics of Fluids, Journal of turbulence, Intl. Journal of Heat and Mass transfer, etc.
