Dr. Sk. Ehtesham Uddin is Assistant Professor (History) in the department of Law since last twelve years. He is specialized in Modern Indian History and has been awarded Doctorate on the topic ?Formation and End of a Mughal Provincial Civilisation: A socio-economic and cultural history of Awadh 1748-1856. Some of his papers related with the Nawabi regime of Awadh and socio-legal history has been published in the Proceedings of Indian History Congress (a refereed journal) and Journals of State Universities. One of his articles is published in a book titled The Great Uprising of 1857 Commenteries, Studies and Documents (ed. Syed Najmul Raza Rizvi and Saiyid Zaheer Husain Jafri, Delhi 2009). Presently he is guiding two Ph. D and one M. Phil research scholars enrolled in the Centre for Women Studies, AMU, Aligarh, working on the problems of women. His area of interest is socio-legal history.
